Timbuktu, di Abderrahmane Sissako (Francia/Mauritania, 2014)

Le vicende di un villaggio nei pressi di Timbuktu che subisce le angherie imposte dagli jihadisti.

L'inizio mi era parso assai promettente, ossia il cambiamento di quella che fondamentalmente è una piccola realtà sociale il cui sostentamento si basa principalmente sulla pesca e allevamento del bestiame. uomini e donne semplici ma liberi fino all'arrivo di questi fanatici religiosi.
Eppure - nonostante i soprusi - c'è una sorta di apparente "comprensione reciproca" dettata dalla fede, o meglio, ogni qualvolta che viene tirato in ballo Allah i toni si fanno più seri e l'attenzione aumenta.
Peccato che i metodi scelti dai terroristi lascino ampiamente a desiderare... -____-
Ho trovato un po' stupidotto il finale, eccessivamente drammatico - ma il film aveva già un po' perso qualcosa in termini di efficacia della messa in scena dopo metà visione. Splendida la OST (QUI la traccia principale, bellissima).

Macondo, di Sudabeh Mortezai (Austria, 2014)

Le vicende di Ramasan - bimbo ceceno orfano di padre - e della relativa famiglia in un povero quartiere di una cittadina austriaca.

Beghe familiari, litigi infantili, ricerca di una figura paterna di riferimento, senso di impotenza e/o insoddisfazione nei confronti della propria condizione esistenziale. Tutto ciò è stato sapientemente "riordinato" da questa regista della quale non avevo mai sentito parlare in precedenza e devo dire che il risultato finale è piacevole.
Un film puramente neorealista in cui la parte del leone è stata affidata a un giovanissimo interprete dal notevole talento recitativo. Lungometraggio semplice ma convincente. Trailer.

Visto anch'io alcuni giorni fa. Beh... è decisamente patriottico, per quanto mi riguarda.
A mio avviso lo so evince soprattutto nelle fasi finali e nell'estrema testardaggine di Don "Wardaddy"/Pitt, che a tutti gli effetti è

Sicuramente mantiene costante un certo pathos lungo tutta la durata (non male le sequenze di perlustrazione nelle quali si "respira" sempre il pericolo di una possibile imboscata nemica), tuttavia non lo riguarderei.

The Lincoln Lawyer, di Brad Furman (USA, 2011)

Un avvocato losangelino si vede invischiato in un caso più complesso del solito che lo costringerà a dare sfogo a tutte le proprie risorse.


Classico legal thriller che si regge su una buona interpretazione di Matthew "Accento Texano Spaccaculi" McConaughey.
Niente di eclatante (con qualche smargiassata made in U.S.A. di troppo) ma è capace di intrattenere per circa due ore.

Journey to Jah, di Noël Dernesch, Moritz Springer.
Journey to Jah è un viaggio nel cuore di due persone, un italiano e un tedesco, che trovano dall’altra parte del globo la chiave per riportare l’equilibrio nelle loro vite e il coraggio di cantare il rifiuto delle diseguaglianze universali. Perché se si riesce a liberare la mente, si è liberi per sempre. Una ricerca che comincia sulle onde trascinanti del reggae, a partire dal fuoco indimenticabile di Bob Marley, fino all’incontro con la complessa realtà della Giamaica.
Io l'ho trovato veramente interessante, si ok stiamo parlando di uno dei miei artisti preferiti (Alborosie) ma chi ama il reggae come me non può farsi sfuggire questa piccola chicca. Il libro all'interno lo leggere quanto prima, ma fidatevi che il doc merita. :em73:

Quel giorno a Rio (Blame it on Rio), di Stanley Donen

Stanley Donen è stato uno dei grandissimi della commedia americana (e del musical) degli anni '50-'60. Robetta tipo Un giorno a New York, Cantando sotto la pioggia, Cenerentola a Parigi, Indiscreto, fino a quel film meraviglioso che è Due sulla strada, con Audrey Hepburn e Albert Finney.
Qui magari non era al suo peso-forma, ma:
1) Ormai se lo poteva anche permettere.
2) Ci sono ancora alcune battute che, da sole, farebbero un'intera commedia dei giorni nostri, dato che attualmente - e da molti anni ormai - trattasi del genere cinematografico più arretrato di tutti.
3) L'allegra amoralità che sprizza da tutti i fotogrammi di questo film, ne farebbe almeno 20, di commedie odierne.

Ma diamo un'occhiata veloce alla trama:
