Palma d'oro a "Parasite" di Bong Joon-ho
La Palma d'oro va in Corea del Sud, per la prima volta. E per la seconda consecutiva in Estremo Oriente dopo quella al film giapponese Shoplifters di Hirokazu Koreeda. Parasite di Bong Joon-hoo racconta la storia di una famiglia maestra nell'arte dell'arrangiarsi. Padre, madre e i due figli adolescenti cercano di sbarcare il lunario agganciandosi ai wi-fi gratuiti e con piccoli lavoretti precari quando riescono subdolamente a intrufolarsi nella ricca famiglia dei Park attraverso finte identità. Nella colonna sonora, a sorpresa, In ginocchio da te di Gianni Morandi.
Protagonista principale di Parasite (titolo originale Gisaengchung) è Song Kang-ho, il grande attore sudocreano già presente in altri film del regista che dopo le ultime produzioni internazionali, Snowpiercer e Okja, è tornato a lavorare in patria dove aveva realizzato i suoi lavori migliori: Memories of Murder, The Host, Mother che sono usciti anche in Italia. Resta inedito, ma sono presenti i sottotitoli nell'archivio di AW, il suo lungometraggio d'esordio Barking Dogs Never Bite
