Boiling Point (Giappone, 1990)- Takeshi Kitano. 
E con questo ho concluso la filmografia takeshiaka kitanesca...
Un ottimo Kitano, sicuramente migliore del sopravvalutato "Violent Cop", ma lungi da capolavori come "Dolls", o restando in tema di yakuza-eiga "Hana- Bi". Ancora incredibile la sua regia, in grado di essere fredda e distaccata anche nei momenti di estrema violenza. Quasi ad anticipare le inquadrature scioccanti del capolavoro "Cure" di Kurosawa. In contrapposizione i soliti interventi umoristici del maestro e una bella fotografia colorata, ma non saturata.
Recitazione perfetta.
La trama, debolissima e insignificante, è se non altro sorretta dall'ottimo ritmo e dalla tecnica innegabile di un Kitano in punta di piedi.

bè, direi che di genere si può parlare che sì. e se parliamo di genere, hana-bi non è uno yakuza-eiga, a meno che non si voglia considerare tale qualunque film in cui compare la yakuza. che poi gli yakuza-eiga di kitano siano così particolari che spesso siano oltre il genere, ed allora si vuole infilare anche hana-bi, ok. ma se si vuole dare un'etichetta, per me è un poliziesco-drammatico.

Boiling Point a mio parere è il capolavoro di Kitano assieme a Sonatine. Gli altri film se pur bellissimi, sono una spanna sotto.

Boiling Point merita, ma continuo a preferire L'estate di Kikujiro. Credo che il bello di Kitano sia proprio questo: ha talmente tante sfaccettature che puoi sempre trovare un suo film che ti piace, indipendentemente dai tuoi gusti...
