Potresti chiarire meglio questa notizia? Te lo chiedo perché sul loro sito, nella lista dei Blu-ray, vedo che le uscite #71 e #72 (non ancora usciti) sono Chikamatsu Monogatari e Akansei Chitai. Mancherebbero solo Yokihi e Uwasa no onna, a quel punto, come blu ray singoli non contenuti nel box, magari usciranno anche quelli. O no? :em10:

Allora, chiarisco i film del set:
#36 Ugetsu+Oyu-sama
#37 Sansho+Gion Bayashi
#71 Chikamatsu monogatari+Uwasa no onna
#72 Akasen+Yokihi

#36-37 erano uscite singolarmente in dual format (entrambi acquistate dal sottoscritto). All'uscita del box, dato che molti avevano già preso entrambi, è stato detto: "sì, ma io ho già quelle due, aspetterò che #71-72 escano singolarmente". Al che è stato risposto che, prese singolarmente, già le due precedenti non avevavano venduto granché, considerando poi che i diritti dei fim stanno per esausirsi, si è optato per un set limitato. In breve, gli 8 film già editi in DVD ci sono sempre tutti, ma quei 4 lì non usciranno singoli (peraltro, mi sembra che anche le #36-37 stiano già andando fuori catalogo).

Patlabor - The Movie (1989)

Finalmente - dopo secoli di attesa - sono riuscito a mettere le mani sopra il Blu-ray di questo leggendario anime movie del 1989.
Mai stato un fan dei robottoni ma Patlabor è PATLABOR e - soprattutto - Mamoru Oshii è MAMORU OSHII.
Maestro indiscusso per quanto concerne le sceneggiature, davvero sempre molto complesse con uno sviluppo delle trame che ogni volta diventano sempre più intricate (Jin Roh docet).
Ecco, questo film è sicuramente datato ma..... che disegni, ragazzi! Tra l'altro negli anni '80 non si utilizzavano i colori accesissimi di oggi (vedere Nausicaa o Le Ali di Honneamise), anche perché c'era un'altra tecnologia.
Tuttavia apprezzo molto quelle "tinte" mai esagerate ma decisamente autentiche. E poi la colonna sonora tipica degli 80's! (Molto City Hunter! :em66:)

È ufficiale: il 22 marzo 2016 la Criterion Collection rilascerà la versione restaurata del leggendario lungometraggio del compianto Edward Yang.
Trattasi di un film dalla durata considerevole che è universalmente riconosciuto come uno dei capisaldi della new wave taiwanese e del cinema asiatico/internazionale in generale.
Erano anni che se ne parlava e le voci di corridoio non facevano che aumentare ma finalmente potremo averlo tra le mani in condizioni soddisfacenti (bye bye, LaserDisc).
Un'opera del genere merita il massimo. Sono certo che l'attesa non deluderà i fan del regista originario di Shanghai.


Di seguito i contenuti extra:

- Nuovo restauro digitale in 4K, con la colonna sonora monofonica non compressa (inclusa solo nel Blu-ray);
- Nuovo commento audio a cura del critico cinematografico Tony Rayns;
- Nuova intervista con l'attore Chen Chang;
- "Our Time, Our Story" un documentario di 117 minuti del 2002 sul movimento del Nuovo Cinema Taiwanese, con interviste a Yang e - tra gli altri - i registi Hou Hsiao-Hsien e Tsai Ming-liang;
- Una performance videoregistrata del 1992 con lo stesso Edward Yang nella commedia "Likely Consequence" (1992);
- Nuova traduzione in inglese dei sottotitoli;
- Un saggio del critico cinematografico Godfrey Cheshire e una dichiarazione risalente al 1991 del regista Edward Yang. [fonte: criterion.com]

In effetti il restauro operato dalla sua fondazione risale ad alcuni anni fa (mi pare che si sia parlato del 2009) ma non l'hanno mai reso disponibile se non per proiezioni concordate.
Anyway, l'importante è che finisca nelle nostre mani. :em83: Giuro, non sto nella pelle!
