Lee Shi-mak si reca presso una mostra d’arte solo per scoprire che i locali del museo sono vuoti. Un solo quadro è rimasto appeso a una parete, e raffigura il volto di Ae-ja, la sua moglie scomparsa 10 anni prima. Shi-mak prende un taxi per ritornare a casa, ma l’autista del taxi lo porta contro la sua volontà in una casa di campagna. Lì vi incontra Park Joon-chul, un pittore fallito che gli dona il ritratto di Ae-ja e che gli supplica di prendere il quadro e andarsene via. All’improvviso Joon-chul fa nascondere Shi-mak sotto il letto e costui vede la sagoma di una donna che pugnala il pittore alle spalle. Shi-mak fugge con il quadro e trova il corpo di Ae-ja steso per terra. Dopo aver portato il corpo della donna dal dottor Park, costui viene ucciso dalla donna, che svanisce nel nulla.
Ritornato a casa con il quadro, Shi-mak assiste alla distruzione della sua famiglia ad opera dello spirito rancoroso di Ae-ja. In preda alla rabbia, Shi-mak getta il quadro per terra e scopre che incastonato nella cornice vi è un diario scritto dal pittore Joon-chul in cui viene svelato il complotto dietro la morte di Ae-ja, avvenuta 10 anni prima.

Film visto tempo fa: un buon horror, fatto come si deve. Niente di spettacolare, ma contando anche la sua età è una curiosità che lascia pienamente soddisfatti.
