뻐꾸기도 밤에 우는가
La madre di Hyunbo prega il dio della montagna affinché suo figlio riesca a trovar moglie. Un giorno Sooni, la figlia dodicenne di una danzatrice itinerante, viene abbandonata in montagna dalla madre. La madre di Hyunbo approfitta dell’occasione per allevarla in vista di una futura unione in matrimonio con Hyunbo. Compiuti 18 anni, Sooni si sposa con Hyunbo. La madre di Hyunbo muore e i due si apprestano a vivere felicemente insieme, quando il signor Kim, una guardia forestale invaghitasi di Sooni, arresta Hyunbo per aver tagliato legna e prodotto carbone senza permesso.

Tratto dal romanzo "Dal sacrario alla deità del villaggio" di Jeong Bi-seok, il film di Jeong Jin-woo è un eccellente dramma poetico a tinte lievemente erotiche che si pregia delle musiche suggestive di Han Sang-ki e della bellezza semplice e disarmante di una Jeong Yun-hie in stato di grazia, che con questo film vinse il Grand Bell Award come migliore attrice nel 1980 (lo rivinse con Parrot Cries With Its Body dello stesso regista l'anno successivo).

Film molto poetico. Soprattutto il finale.
Una visione che scorre piacevole,

Grazie, amo il cinema coreano di quegli anni, è ricco di significati e di messaggi. Rappresenta a mio parere il riflesso di un contesto socio-culturale complesso in cui il popolo coreano ha dimostrato con coraggio di possedere una propria identità artistica!

Finito di visionare anche questo film coreano anni 80.
La bellezza dei luoghi e la bellezza disarmante Jeong Yun-hie che sprigiona eros in maniera spontanea e aggiungendo una storia scorrevole e molto interessante ne fanno de Does cuckoo cry at Night un prodotto davvero interessante e lo spettatore non può provare che pena per il povero e ingenuo (ma anche di buon cuore) Hyunbo . Sicuramente non un caposaldo della cinematografia anni 80 e non ma ciò non toglie che il film merita.
