@Oda: se hai visto solo Mandara e l'episodio di Rampo Noir - che pure non era del tutto da buttare - prova almeno questo, che è tra i suoi più belli.

Bellissimo visivamente, ma abbastanza pesante nello sviluppo. Un buon film comunque. Forse per valutarlo meglio dovrei rivederlo una seconda volta.

Film affascinante grazie a una regia notevole. Inquadrature ricercate, alcune davvero splendide. Colonna sonora insistente, ma non fastidiosa.

luci ed ombre: una regia tecnicamente stupefacente per i tempi (va in parallelo ai famosi carrelli di king hu) e visivamente curatissima va al servizio (ma mica sempre, sembrerebbe, e qua casca un po' l'asino) di una storia strascinata e sfiancante che alterna momenti intriganti ad altri di tedio e fastidio, accentuato da una colonna sonora invadente e a tratti di una bruttezza rara.
se la tecnica è dunque all'altezza dell'oshima di quei tempi, la capacità di dare impatto alla storia non lo è assolutamente, e pesa sul risultato finale.
peccato per il complesso, ma il ricordo di geometrie e movimenti di this transient life credo me lo porterò in mente.
