Una donna uccide un uomo (il marito?) e da quel momento comincia ad essere perseguitata da uno stato di paranoia che la opprime.
Misteriose telefonate che la incolpano e la testa della vittima racchiusa in un pacco con tanto di fiocco sono reali o frutto del suo rimorso?
Per la donna l'unica soluzione possibile per espiare è solo una: il suicidio.

Ho appena scoperto questa piccola gemma del cortometraggio coreano.
Un film assurdo, grottesco, scervellotico. Una delirante congiunzione tra lo Tsukamoto più estremo (gli ultimi minuti sembrano essere la tranquilla versione femminile di "Tetsuo"), il Lars Von Trier di "Epidemic" e il David Lynch di "Eraserhead".
Cosa si nasconde nella testa di un'assassina? Di una psicopatica?
"Suicidal Variations" ce lo mostra con continui disturbanti flash che dimostrano la paranoia, la malattia contorta di una donna uccisa dal rimorso.
La musica, così struggente, inquietante, mai macchinosa è assolutamente superba: punte di jazz, di blues spezzato, elettronica...una colonna sonora che si sposa decisamente alla perfezione a delle immagini così disturbanti e grottesche, inquietanti e funeree.

Una perla ormai sperduta e sconosciuta ai più che merita di essere rivista e rivalutata.
Immancabile per ogni fan di Lynch, Tsukamoto, Terayama, di quel cinema che vuole abbattere le barriere e lo fa con destrezza.
Inquietante, cervellotico, folle.
