Trama. Momo è una ragazza di 11 anni cresciuta in una grande città. Tuttavia, a seguito della perdita prematura del padre, si trasferisce con la madre presso la casa della zia su un'isola remota. Qui il tempo sembra essersi fermato: vecchi edifici in legno, santuari circondati da alberi, campi terrazzati faticosamente scavati su ripide colline... e nessun centro commerciale. Inutile dire che Momo non è troppo entusiasta della nuova abitazione. Ma soprattutto, Momo ancora soffre per una lettera incompiuta lasciatagli dal padre prima che morisse. Una lettera che contiene solo due parole: "Cara Momo". Cosa voleva dire suo padre? Un giorno, esplorando la soffitta della sua nuova casa, Momo trova un antico libro. E da quel momento, strani avvenimenti iniziano a verificarsi intorno a lei... sarà l’inizio di una fantastica avventura.

Toccante, ma anche divertente (gli youkai sono irresistibili). A me è piaciuto abbastanza, anche se soffre di una certa lungaggine almeno nella parte centrale. Hiroyuki Okiura, regista di "Jin-Roh: Uomini e lupi", cambia qua totalmente registro. Elaborazione del lutto, percorso di crescita, youkai... cose spesso già viste, ma miscelate bene e riportate con grazia in questo film. Meritevole anche se non da vette dell'olimpo animato.

Il film ha vinto diversi premi, in Italia il Future Film Festival

Una Lettera per Momo: proiezione gratuita al Future Film Kids


Il delizioso lungometraggio animato di Hiroyuki Okiura e Production I.G al cinema.

Il programma del Future Film Kids, costola del Future Film Festival per i più piccoli, prevede la proiezione di Una Lettera per Momo per Sabato 26 Ottobre alle ore 16:00. La proiezione è gratuita e si terrà presso il Cinema Galliera di Via Matteotti, 27 a Bologna.
